Some people treat it like a competition while it seems like other people just want to speak from the heart.
There’s a new report that says Prince Harry managed to beat the royal family to the punch with a heartfelt speech about Queen Elizabeth on the first anniversary of her death.
The Duke of Sussex opened up about his beloved grandmother while he was at the WellChild Awards in London on Thursday night.

Prince Harry honored his grandmother in a very moving speech at the WellChild Awards in London. As many royal fans can probably recall, both Harry and Meghan Markle were supposed to attend the awards last year but canceled at the very last minute because of Queen Elizabeth’s death on September 8th, 2022. She was 96.
In his speech, the Duke of Sussex said, “As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year, as my grandmother passed away.
As you also probably know, she would have been the first person to insist that I still come to be with you all instead of going to her.”

He continued, “And that’s precisely why I know, exactly one year on, that she is looking down on all of us tonight, happy we’re together, continuing to spotlight such an incredible community.”
The Royal Family Wanted Meghan Markle To Stay Back
There was also a lot of controversy before Harry flew to Balmoral last year as apparently the royal family did not want Meghan Markle to join him for the trip.
King Charles at the time even instructed Prince William to tell his wife Kate Middleton to stay back with her children just so it wouldn’t look like Meghan was the only wife not there to say her final good-bye to the queen.
So far the royal family have not made any comments about the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death but there’s no doubt that some of them are probably upset that Harry beat them to the punch.

Dies it really matter?? They’re all just paying their respects.
The royal family (minus Harry) is showing their true hypocritical selves. They try to show the world family perfection, all the while treating their son, brother, Harry, Meghan and his children with such distain. Leaking false tidbits about Harry and his wife. This is how perfect They are not. That the woman who broke Diana’s marriage should be queen says how shoddy and hypocritical this family is.
They aren’t saying anything about who said it. They are just saying a report. Sounds like PR people which has to mean it came from H&M’s camp. The royal family already had plans to honor the late Queen, so what does it matter who did what first? Sounds like something grade school children would argue about. Very childish.
I think the Royal family should be ashamed of their treatment of Harry and Meghan. They treated Diana the same way….as an Outsider. SHAME especially on William. How would he like being called The Spare all his life?
This is not a competition. Being there remembering someone on the anniversary of their death is appropriate. However, Harry needed to be by his grandmother’s side before she passed. He needed to thank her and assure her of his love while she was here on this earth. He is a huge disappointment to all including himself. I feel sorry for him. He let MM destroy his family and his friends. I pray for him to grow up, live in the present not the past and not worrying about tomorrow. He was trully blessed and now ????? We can only hope he wakes up, gets the help he needs and listens for God’s words and then Live by them.
Harry and Megan chose to leave. Megan will have nothing to do with Harry’s family. She has nothing to do with her father who cared for her and raised her. There is one common denominator here… Megan.
Harry is a disgrace to his family and he treated his grandparents horribly.
After how Harry treated his grandparents even while Prince Philip lay dying it is totally disgusting of him to even mention their names, he is a total hypocrite all for the sake of money. Harry and Meghan I firmly believe hastened the death of his grandmother with their vile hateful lies about the royal family, after all who walked Meghan part way down the aisle, who gave them million and millions of dollars to support them in Canada and the US, who paid for a million dollar wedding, on and on they take and take more without a care for others.
