The Good Doctor showed that Osvaldo Benavides appeared when the team headed out to Guatemala. At the time, Dr. Mateo worked locally, and he became friendly with Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang). Of course, their dangerous encounters led them to become even closer. However all of a sudden, he exits the show and it all seems a bit of a mystery as to why. However, plenty of actors and actresses have already exited.

The news that Osvaldo Benavides exits the show isn’t something fans might not have anticipated. Actually, Antonia Thomas exited the show as Dr. Claire Brown when her character decided to leave St Bonaventure. She decided that working in a clinic in Guatemala seems like a good opportunity. That came after series regular, Nicholas Gonzales, who played Dr. Neil Melendez also left. Other departures saw Chuku Modu, Beau Garrett, Tamlyn Tomita, and Jasika Nicole go.

The sudden cast change new about The Good Doctor came from Popculture. The outlet reported, “Sony Pictures Television, which produces the series, has not commented.” So far, nobody knows why and his social media accounts don’t talk about it at all. Details of the character’s exit are unknown. Before he joined the ABC show, Benavides who hails from Mexico, had extensive experience with Mexican TV.

In the premiere of Season 5, The Good Doctor fans learned that Osvaldo Benavides’ character Mateo traveled to San Jose in the hopes of starting a romantic relationship with Lim. However, despite Lim hiring him, he ran into problems because of legal issues. Recall, he skipped his court date after an arrest.
