TV Reboot News: Practical Magic Turns Into Modern TV Show, ‘Rules of Magic’

TV reboot news reveals the movie Practical Magic is going to turn in to a television show. However, it will be a bit different and become more modern. Find out everything that is known so far about the TV show, which is titled Rules of Magic.

The film was released in 1998 and was an instant success. It starred Sandra Bullock as Sally Owens. She was a natural-born witch but didn’t want the lifestyle. She tried to maintain a “normal” life. However, her sister was another story.

Gillian Owens was portrayed by Nicole Kidman. She was spontaneous, out-of-control and as my mother would say, is a girl who is in love with falling in love. She ended up in some hot water when an obsessive man won’t let her go. He ends up dead, but then is brought back to life, which creates a whole new set of disturbing circumstances.

Plus, there were the town residents who heard all the stories about the witchy family. However, when the girls need help the most, the judgmental woman pitch in to help the two sisters in their time of need.

TV Reboot News: Practical Magic Prequel

According to TV Insider, the reboot will be a prequel to Practical Magic. It will focus on two sisters, Franny and Jet. Unlike the Practical Magic movie, the TV reboot will be set in the 60s. No premiere date has been announced yet, but we do know it has been picked up by HBO MAX.

Titled Rules of Magic, fans may remember Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest played Franny and Jet in the Practical Magic movie. However, how they grew up was never revealed.
