Shemar Moore Responds To What He’d Do If The “Young & The Restless” Came Calling

The last time fans saw Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) in the Young and the Restless (Y&R) was in May 2023 during the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations. He surprised friends and family when he arrived at the Jazz Club to honor Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).

Both Malcolm and Shemar are fan favorites on the show, so what would the actor do if the soap came calling, once more?

Shemar Moore – “I Would Go …”

During an interview with First For Women, actor Shemar Moore revealed that if the Y&R called “today”, he would go. He also added that if Criminal Minds asked him to return, he’d go.

He adds that one should never forget where they came from and goes on to say that it may sound “cheesy” and “cliched”, but it’s true.

With the announcement recently that his show S.W.A.T. has been canceled from CBS’s primetime line-up, both Y&R and Criminal Minds could be calling. However, could a new opportunity emerge on the horizon for Shemar?

Would Shemar Moore Join “The Gates”?

Shemar was also asked about potentially joining The Gates cast, a new daytime drama focusing on a wealthy gated Black community.

As the S.W.A.T. cancelation was just recently announced, Moore was likely still busy with S.W.A.T. during his First for Women interview.

He responded by saying that “right now” he’s busy with S.W.A.T. He added that if this is “indeed” the end of that show, then he wants to continue to evolve in the industry. He goes on to say if he’s unemployed, fans may see him more on the Y&R, but he would not go back on contract.

He stated that there’s a lot in him and what he’s capable of that people don’t know. He’ll have to dig deep to bring that out.

Now, he didn’t exactly say there was “no way” he’d go back to daytime drama, so perhaps a guest run on either the Y&R or The Gates is in the cards? Only time will tell.
