The Good Doctor Exec Tease Hope For Shaun And Lea’s Engagement

The Good Doctor spoilers and updates tease that there may be hope for Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and Lea Dilallo’s (Paige Spara) relationship when the show returns. The show’s boss talked about the potential fate of the pair’s relationship.

Fans may recall that the show ended on a tragic note during its mid-season finale. Shaun called off his wedding to Lean after the devastating loss of a patient’s baby.

He lashed out at Lea for changing his patient report card without his knowledge. Shaun broke down in the St Bonaventure’s pharmacy and then decided to end his relationship with Lea.

The Good Doctor – Boss Talks About Shaun and Lea’s Future

The series boss David Shore opened up about the potential future for the pair. Last year’s mid-season finale was heartbreaking and Shaun and Lea’s relationship will be more complicated than anticipated.

“Everybody is reeling from the death of the baby – and of course, Shaun is reeling most of all. He doesn’t simply go, ‘I was upset. Let’s move on’,” Shore said.

“He goes, ‘I was upset for a reason. You [Lea] let me down. You did wrong, and you have to make it right.’ And so can she make it right? Can she correct that?” he continued.

The Good Doctor -There’s Always Hope

Of course, The Good Doctor spoilers show Lea will have something to say as well. Things may seem like the end when it comes to their relationship, but there’s always hope, at least that is what Shore said.

Shore explained that they want the show to address real-life issues involving real people who try to do what they can to face and overcome challenges. In some cases, they may work things out but sometimes, they don’t.

He added that happy endings don’t happen all the time, which is proved by how the midseason ended. But he also teased that they’d like to have a happy ending, which could mean Lea and Shaun’s relationship may get another chance.

The Good Doctor – Audrey Lim Tries To Take Salen Morrison Down

As for Dr. Audrey Lim (Christina Chang), she’ll try to take Salen Morrison (Rachel Bay Jones) down but that will be easier said than done. Shore said that Dr. Lim is good at medicine but not at bureaucracy. What is she willing to risk to bring Salen down? This situation will put Marcus Andrews (Hill Harper) in a difficult situation because he just started to date Salen.
