The Good Doctor’s Antonia Thomas Is Gonna Be Back

The Good Doctor spoilers, news, and updates tease that Antonia Thomas, who played Dr. Claire Brown in the series, is going to be back on screen real soon.

Antonia Thomas is one of the original cast of The Good Doctor from the beginning, but she left in mid-2021 to consider other opportunities in show business.

The Good Doctor revolves around Dr. Shaun Murphy (played by Freddie Highmore), an autistic surgeon who has amazing talent in his field.

This is why, despite his condition, a hospital like San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital in the show still considered him as one of their surgeons.

Antonia’s role in the show is somehow Shaun Murphy’s guardian angel. They are both surgical residents in the hospital, and they grew closer as friends.

Dr. Claire often answers Shaun’s questions about social queues, as someone like him does not easily pick up some of these.

For instance, he has trouble knowing if someone is being sarcastic or serious. Claire Brown was there to guide him, and somehow, Shaun also guides her with his observations that are often overlooked by other people.

The Good Doctor Spoilers – Leaving The Good Doctor

According to Antonia, she believes that they have already tried everything with Claire, which is probably why she thinks it’s time to exit. But she added that if she can explore other opportunities and still be in the production of The Good Doctor at the same time, she would.

But she needed to choose one, and she chose to explore more. She also said she’d be glad to come back once in a while in the show, so fans should watch out.

Her character’s exit was in the fourth season of the show when she decided to stay to provide medical support in Guatemala.

She briefly returned in the next season, where she declared that she got the Chief of Surgery position in Guatemala.

So, it is not a dead end yet for her character. It’s not like they killed her off or something. We are expecting her to come back for more.

The Good Doctor Spoilers – Antonia Thomas’s New Project

The exploration may have ended as she was able to bag the starring role in Apple TV’s Still Up. Her character, Lisa, is an illustrator who suffers from insomnia and finds a friend through Danny (played by Craig Roberts).

She is taking care of her young daughter as well as her partner, Veggie (played by Blake Harrison).

The series is described as an almost-romantic comedy and will air on September 22, 2023, on Apply TV+
